Access

I once lived in “Hell.” This was the nickname of the only all-male floor in my dormitory at Rice University. Access is what I remember most from my second year in Hell. This marked the first year that internet and cable TV was available in everyone’s dorm room. You can only imagine what young college boys viewed in privacy with this newfound access.

One afternoon Darin, Cru staff member, asked me to share my faith at my dorm. Handing me a Know God Personally (KGP) evangelism track, I proceeded to Hell. Access to the guys’ rooms was easy because their doors were wide open. Entering the first room, I saw Steve lying in bed and shared with him the KGP. I will always remember his words after I completed the presentation, “Leon, I don’t believe any of this.” My virgin gospel experience made me aware of people’s need of a Savior.

For over two decades, God has given me access to share the gospel in Texas, the South and South Africa. My most recent time sharing the gospel was with someone at a Houston Independent School District (HISD) high school. During our conversation, the young man shared he didn’t know how to begin a relationship with God and would like to know. I utilized a digital KGP from the God Tools app on my phone. After I completed the presentation he said, “Thank you, you are an answer to prayer.” Please pray for more opportunities to share the gospel. As a former resident of Hell, it’s good to know I have helped people know how they can have access to Heaven.

                                                                                                     Sincerely,

Leon Best
