Clear View

At Batho Pele Resource Center, we resource underserved communities to draw others to Christ. This work requires creative solutions, like recently when we connected South Early College High School and businesses in the Sunnyside community for a high-impact project.

The need came from Principal Martinez, who reached out as she prepared to welcome students back:

“I wanted to see if you could help us connect with someone who could clean the second-floor windows… The windows currently have a noticeable buildup of pollen… we want to ensure our campus looks clean, welcoming and ready.”

A simple request for a clean view was a challenge for us. We needed a professional service and funding.

Through a ministry connection in Acres Homes, we linked up with Rodney Hudson of Hudson Pressure Washers. Rodney was ready to help and provided a reasonable quote.

The funds were the next hurdle, as we didn’t have the money available. That’s when the Sunnyside community stepped up! Local businesses, Elevate 2 Educate and Space City Auto Center, generously helped fund this vital beautification project. This is the heart of BPRC— seeing the community invest in its own future.

The work was completed quickly, giving the school a much-needed facelift. Principal Martinez’s response affirmed the deeper impact:

“Wow! The pictures don’t fully capture how beautiful the project turned out—the windows look amazing, and our students are already noticing the difference! Thank you so much for supporting us… We want our students to take ownership of the building and see that we are committed to continuously improving their environment.”

We are glad everyone is enjoying the new view. Our prayer is that more than just light comes through those clean windows; may they also bring clarity, hope, and a renewed sense of purpose for every student and staff member.

Sincerely,

Leon Best
