Multiplied

Tyrone Tompkins, CEO Batho Pele Resource Center interviews Principal J. Metcalf of Eisenhower Sr. High School during Multiplied fundraiser vision event.

“I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.” — 1 Corinthians 3:6

April 16th was truly an elegant affair. Melanie and I, along with the Tompkins, were honored to host our 2nd Annual BPRC Vision Dinner, an evening dedicated to celebrating how God is moving in the heart of our city.

The theme for the evening was “Multiplied.” We drew our inspiration from 1 Corinthians 3:6. This truth perfectly captures the spirit of BPRC; we are committed to being faithful with the work set before us, trusting that God will multiply those efforts into a transformative harvest for His Kingdom.

It was a joy to see over a hundred guests gathered to hear stories of growth and profound life change. We were particularly moved by the words of our guest speakers: Mr. James Metcalf, Principal of Eisenhower High School, shared the deep value of our partnership, emphasizing how BPRC’s presence provides essential care for both students and staff. Pastor Leon Brooks III, of Houston’s First Downtown, challenged us to remain steadfast in our passion for the Gospel, which serves as the foundation for everything we do.

Looking ahead, BPRC is focused on advancing our mission through current Transformative Projects—strategic initiatives like the PeleFund and Educator Care Packs. These efforts allow us to plant seeds of hope in underserved areas, providing the support needed to lead people to Jesus Christ. This mission continues even now, as we honor the staff at Worthing High School during Teacher Appreciation Week.

Our vision is to see communities like Sunnyside and Acres Homes serve as blueprints for hope. We believe that through our collective work, God will continue to transform these neighborhoods into Great Commission communities that draw people toward Him.

The financial gifts received that evening are vital to our momentum. They allow us to continue the work of empowering, equipping, and enriching the greater Houston area. If you were unable to attend or would like to see the details of our long-term strategy, we would be honored to send you a copy of the BPRC Impact Report.

Sincerely,

Leon Best
